Mind-ful Consulting is an initiative by members of the Tavistock Institute’s Advanced Organisational Consultation Society (AOCS). We aim to make our craft available to a wider audience by demonstrating how mind-ful consulting (the practice of paying non-judgemental attention to tasks, roles and boundaries ‘here and now’) can achieve significant developmental changes for clients and practitioners. This book will appeal to internal and external change agents, coaches and consultants, whatever their specialism. In exposing the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that inform their work, authors invite readers to rethink their own approaches to consulting and leading change.

Contents
•The challenge of a mind-ful approach to organizational consulting (Whittle)
•Making sense of instability: a case study of change in a large system (van Linge)
•Organizational identity, identification, and learning (Riise)
•Consulting in hyperturbulent conditions to organizations in transition (Owers)
•Power dynamics of expertise and containment (Grueneisen and Izod)
•Coaching and consulting to small businesses (Szlichcinski and Holder)
•When consultants collaborate and when they do not (Walsh and Whittle)
•Executive coaching as an organizational intervention (Nardone, Johnson and Vitulano)
•Integrating mindsets: role consultation between peers (Davidson and Kinneen)
Energy world: developing the accountancy profession for ethical leadership (Dixon)
•The use of history in organizational consultancy interventions (Sama)
•Mind-fulness as meta- and micro-narratives (Izod)

Edited by Sue Whittle and Karen Izod, all chapters are written by members of the AOCS and their associates. This international alumni organisation of the Tavistock Institute’s AOC programme supports members’ commitment to scholarly practice, through annual meetings and peer review.
